Bond Strengths Evaluated Adhesive Resin Cementation of Different Types of Fiber Posts Used in Aesthetic Dentistry Practice

Objective: the aim of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strengths of different type of fiber posts. material-method: thirty extracted human mandibular premolar teeth with single root canal were selected and were decoronated. remained length of roots samples were obtained 15±1 mm. root canal obturation were performed to the samples. the roots were randomly divided into 3 main groups (g1: carbon fiber post, g2: glass fiber post, g3: glass fiber reinforced composite resin post) were then cemented with a self-adhesive resin cement. all roots were divided horizontally to obtain six root slices with 1 mm thickness. the push-out test was performed using a universal testing machine. statistical analyzes of data (mpa) obtained for each slice was performed using kruskal wallis test and friedman test. results: glass fiber composite posts showed the highest push-out bond strength values (p<0.05). the push-out bond strength values of carbon fiber posts were higher than glass fiber posts (p<0.05). regardless of the main groups there were significant differences between coronal and apical third (p<0.05). conclusions: within the limitation of the study was that, the composite-reinforced glass fiber post was showed better in vitro bonding performance than carbon fiber posts and glass fiber post.
