چکیده    Objective: psoriatic arthritis (psa) is an inflammatory arthritis associated with psoriasis. it is suggested that chronic inflammation in psa leads to atherogenesis and peripheral insulin resistance, thus playing a role in the development of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus. in our study, we aim to evaluate the metabolic parameters in patients with psa.material-method: in our study, we included 32 psoriatic arthritis and 32 person similar in age and sex without any rheumatic disease who were admitted to rheumatology outpatient centre. patients’ age, gender, physical examination and skin-joint evaluations, disease activity scores, waist circumference, blood pressure, body mass index (bmi) measurements, laboratory data, and medications used for treatment were recorded. homa - ir (homeostasis model assessment - insulin resistance) index was used for insulin resistance measurement.results: in our study, triglyceride, systolic and diastolic blood pressures and waist circumference values were significantly higher in psa patients compared to the control group. there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of homa-ir value and number of patients with insulin resistance. there was no statistically significant correlation between disease activity scores, joint involvement pattern and metabolic parameters.conclusions: not only the disease activity score but also the metabolic parameters should be carefully screened in patient with psa. it should be borne in mind that psa has many systemic features and metabolic parameters should also be evaluated in detail.
