The Determination of the Suitability of Different Fixatives for Some Tissues

In this study it was aimed to determination of the suitability of carnoy, orth, regaud, schaudin, bouin, b5, clark, 10% formalin, zenker and alcohol-formalin fixatives for some regions of kidney, spleen, liver, stomach and duodenum tissues. according to this, it was determined that the most suitable fixative was clark for examined regions in kidney and stomach, and lamina epithelialis, lamina propria and tunica muscularis in duodenum. it was established that bouin solution was suitable for spleen and alcohol-formalin solution was suitable for liver. the degradations in tissue integrity and seperations were determined in fixed tissues with schaudin solution. it was identified that they were not suitable fixatives for examined regions that regaud and b5 solutions in spleen, bouin and 10% formalin solutions in duodenum, orth solution in liver, and carnoy, zenker and alcohol-formalin solutions in kidney.
