How to be an Applied Unıversity Education Graduate in Turkey?

The aim of this study is to reconsider the education and training given in the departments of many universities located in our country in accordance with present terms and market demand. that is why a large number of universities revise their teaching programs based on market demands nowadays. when looked into the syllabuses, the courses are generally presented theoretically; however, the practice does not take place as required. moreover, since the social dimension of the students at our universities does not develop well enough, they have adaptation problems at the institutions where they work. in this respect, in order to develop the social dimension of the students, and to focus on social issues in their programs it is certainly necessary for our universities to let place for non-technical social content elective courses in the curriculums. in the meantime, the university students should be given courses and activities that will strengthen their social aspects to integrate them with different cultures and different environments easily. foreign language is a window to open the world. in order that our students can follow the new technologies in the world, and communicate with individuals of different nationalities; seminars, conferences and international occasions should be organized to improve their language skills and social aspects. engineering is accepted as an applied profession that produce solutions to problems faced, and that has global acceptance by applying the latest contemporary science and technology and knowledge which have become successful in this application. all these training and education programs should exactly respond to market expectations. all faculties training engineers should focus on research and development activities in close collaboration with other universities and international research organizations, and should contribute to realize the exchange of information and experience fast, economically and efficiently. again, by collaborating with the business community, the faculties of engineering should provide students with knowledge and experience by facilitating them work in factories.
