چکیده    Volatile fragrant oils encapsulated by a polymeric shell material as microcapsule can be applied to textiles at different processes stages by using different methods. in this study, polyurethane microcapsules containing lavender oil were applied to acrylic hand knitted fiber and yarn by using exhaustion and padding methods respectively. it was aimed to research the change of microcapsule amount in acrylic fabrics after dry and wet rubbing tests and different times washing. the amount of microcapsules was investigated by using sem and ftir analysis methods. in addition, microcapsule application productivity and cost of both of application methods were compared each other. the results showed that the amount of capsules on the fabric surface decrease significantly after five times washing while decreasing of the amount of microcapsules after dry and wet rubbing tests is lower. it was determined that microcapsules application by padding method is more advantageous with regard to the productivity and cost.
