Investigation of Building Stocks in Muş Province with Canada Seismic Screening Method and Seismicity of Region

Rapid assessment methods can be used instead of detailed structural analysis because of the buildings stocks amount. in order to prevent such a tedious process, rather rapid methods for evaluating buildings were developed. the purpose in these rapid methods is to determine the buildings that have priority in terms of risk and accordingly to minimize the number of buildings to be inspected. in these evaluation methods detailed information and inspection are not required. canada seismic screening method is one of the rapid assessment methods. in this study, canadian seismic screening method for the evaluation of existing 200 reinforced-concrete buildings was carried out in muş located in eastern anatolia region in turkey which is seismically quite active .also this study provides information about the seismicity of the region. the purpose of the study is to create a database on the existing building stock with the aim of minimizing the structural earthquake losses. this may reveal consistency between the results of a rapid assessment of the actual behaviour of structures with earthquake impact. %48 of these buildings will be examined in the medium priority; %47 in the high priority and %5 in the very risky priority.
