The validity and reliability of Turkish version of the Early Memories of Warmth and Safeness Scale (EMWSS)

The aim of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of the turkish version of the early memories of warmth and safeness scale (emwss; richter, gilbert, and mcewan, 2009). the sample of study consists of 399 high school students. results of confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated that the twenty items loaded on one factor and the unidimensional model was well fit (x²= 358,79, df= 163, p= 0,0000, rmsea= 0,055, nfi= 0,97, cfi= 0,99, ifi= 0,99, rfi= 0,97, gfi= 0,92, srmr= 0,039). factor loadings ranged from 0,52 to 0,75 and the corrected item-total correlations of emwss ranged from 0,21 to 0,68. internal consistency reliability coefficient of the scale was found as 0,88. these results demonstrate that this scale is a valid and reliable instrument.
