   Significance of Boron For Human Nutrition and Health

چکیده    Boron is an essential microelement for living organisms. the world health organization reports that a healthy people may have 1-13 mg boron per day. the main source of boron for human nutrition is vegetable products. fruits, legumes and vegetables have the highest boron contents. boron is also an essential element for brain functions and has great importance in regulation of calcium, d vitamin and some body minerals. it protects bond-structure by reducing ca and mg losses. in literature, it is reported that workers contacting with boron dusts have low sperms and sexual performance and cause infertility (korkmaz 2007). müezzinoğlu (2008) reported that boron reduced prostate cancer risk. toxicity symptoms of boron are head-ache, sickness, depression and blooding. boron is also used as sterilization agent in eye-infections and cancer-therapy.
