Determination of the Weed Species, Density and Frequency in Wheat Fields in Bingöl Province

This study was conducted in 2016 and 2018 in april-june in order to determine the weeds, density and frequency of weeds in wheat cultivation areas of bingöl province. for this purpose, land observations and surveys were carried out in 20 different locations in bingöl merkez and genç districts where the most of wheat production was made in the province. weed species, their densities and frequency of occurrences were determined. the surveys were conducted by selecting the areas where approximately 84% of the wheat production capacity was sown in bingöl. as a result, 109 weed species belonging to 76 genera and 22 families were determined in 20 different fields. the most common families in the study area are asteraceae (23 species), poaceae (22 species), fabaceae (13 species), caryophyllaceae (8 species) and brassicaceae (7 species). the species with the highest density from the weeds were determined galium tricornutum dandy (9.24 plant/m^2), alopecurus myosuroides huds. (5.25 plant/m^2), trifolium repens l. (4.92 plant/m^2), turgenia latifolia (l.) hoffm. (4.13 plant/m^2) and poa bulbosa l. (3.60 plant/m^2). according to the frequency of weeds in the study areas vicia cracca l. (90%), poa bulbosa l. (70%), trifolium repens l. (70%), galium tricornutum dandy (65%) and convolvulus arvensis l. (60%) were determined.
