Difficulties Experienced of Nursing Students who Give Care Foreign Patients

Objective: this study was carried out as descriptive to identify students views and determine the difficulties of 3rd grade nursing students in a hospital gynecology and obstetrics clinics who engaged in clinical practice while caring foreign patients methods: the sample consisted of 33 students who engaged in clinical practice in gynecology and obstetrics clinics and agreed to participate in the study between october-december 2015. the 21-item questionnaire that developed by the researcher was used to collect data. results: during the study, it was indicated that 97% of students didn’t receive training for foreign medical care and 93.9% needed training. all of the students stated that they had difficulty in giving care to foreign patients. as a solution, 51.5% of students indicated to increase the number of translators and 9.1% stated to give turkish education to foreign patients in order to get better quality care. conclusion: it can be said that nursing students have difficulty in giving care to the foreign patients and analytical work needs to be done in this area.
