The Journal of Atatürk University School of Nursing Regarding the Characteristics of the Article and Author

This study was carried out for determining characteristics of the article and author of the journal of atatürk university school of nursing. the data for this descriptive-retrospective study were collected between april-august 2009. four hundred articles published in 32 numbers journal of atatürk university school of nursing since its first issue in 1998 are evaluated regarding their article and authors characteristics. the data was evaluated with number and percentage. according to this study, it is concluded that mostly descriptive papers (84.5%) are published in journal of atatürk university school of nursing, that most of the authors are academicians (97.1%) and most of their assistant professor (30.5%), and there is a lack of articles based on different disciplines’ (4.5%). the average number of references per scientific paper is 21. the number of references in english used for papers has been increasing in recent years. the use of journals and books within references is high.
