چکیده    Turkish house types in different geographical regions of anatolia were formed by structural aspects shaped by climatic factors, constructive materials, and indoor lifestyles due to belief systems and traditions. wood ceilings applied by different designs are one of the most concrete samples of our traditional wood workmanship. one of these interesting designs is kırlangıç covering or tüteklikli covering which is the characteristic covering of tandoori houses of erzurum in east anatolia. ali sırrı alacaknat was one of the oldest last masters of wood workmanship who knew and used the design. in the construction of two kırlangıç coverings in erzurum scotch pines, brought from sarıkamış, kars, were used. this kırlangıç covering which has a dome shape is constructed by disposing of 110 pine trees, one on the top of other and one master and one apprentice can complete the covering in a month time.
