Turkish art, which was started from middle asia and continued to europe in the vast geographic region and have effects even today, consists of very rich culture layer. of course,one of the most important layer of this is ottoman art. in the becoming contemporary period of ottoman art; opening sanayi-i nefise schools,and soldier painters education activities and their contributions to the art educations take an important part in this period. engineering office which was contemporary institution in that period and educated people in westerner paint tecnique. ferik ibrahim paşa (1815-1899), ferik tevfik paşa (1815-1866), halil paşa (1857-1939), sami yetik (1878-1945), ali sami boyar (1880-1967), ahmet ziya akbulut (1869-1938), hikmet onat (1885-1977), celal esat arseven (1875-1971). these painters have come to top, as they have both painter identifications and educator identifications. these painters at the same time was accepted the founders of contemporary art in the ottoman country, they undertook the leading roles in the contemporaring period with their activities in the sanayi-i nefise school.
