   Two Basic Branches of the Oil Painting Method: Flemish and Italian Painting Methods

چکیده    This study aims to analyze the flemish and italian painting techniques which are at the core of the development of different methods throughout the history of oil painting in art. the tradition and the development phase of the european oil painting will be defined and examined within the framework of general features of these two methods which are influential even today. in our study, the 15^th and the 16^th century north and south european renaissance will be examined step by step. firstly, the study focuses on the flemish oil painting method, attributed to jan van eyck (1390-1441) then on italian painting method with the representatives of florence school that is based on form, like antonella da messina (1430-1479), leonardo da vinci (1452-1519) and rafaello sanzio (1483-1520). also the representative of the school of venice; titian (1488/1490-1576) will be analyzed. finally, the effects of these two fundamental painting approaches will be uncovered.
