The Contributions of Erzurum Anatolian Fine Arts High School Music Department to the Professional Music Education and Students’ Professional Outcomes

The aim of this study is to determine the situation of the process from the establishment of erzurum anatolian fine arts high school to the beginning of the students’ career and to present the contribution of the institution to the professional music education. in order to achieve accurate and reliable results, the universe and the sample of the study were determined identical as the music department of erzurum anatolian fine arts high school. descriptive method was used in the study and survey method was also used in the light of the descriptive method. interview method that has been commonly used in survey studies to find personal information was used to collect data and required data was achieved through these methods. quantitative and qualitative data were collected separately. acquired data was analyzed and brought together. the results indicate that educational learning outcomes make significant contributions to the graduated students. as the results, the students cannot achieve enough success in university exam and in atatürk university, the students generally chose faculty of education as the faculty and music education department as the department. students in undergraduate program generally prefer the violin as a major instrument. the results also show that the most of the students are not able to complete the program successfully in time and the number of the students who want to commence on a graduate program is very few. the fact that the students chose being a music teacher as a profession and the most of them are not able to be appointed to any profession arises out of the results.
