Dîvân-ı İşrâf in Great Seljuks’ and Iraq Seljuks’ Times

This study examines dîvân-ı işrâf which has a great importance in civil organization of one of the greatest turkish empires great seljuk empire and iraq seljuk empire related to great seljuks. dîvân-ı işrâf was one of the sections of dîvân-ı âlâ, the cabinet in contemporary sense, where almost all government issues were handled and decided. the headman of the council was a statesman with müşrif title and was appointed by the sultan. besides, when müşrif is not around, including a deputy, there were many attendants in the council. the council which was designed to control documents and institutions related to financial affairs, incomes and spending also operated as an intelligence service in aforesaid times. because of this reason, people who worked there were chosen among confidential and secretive ones.
