   Teacher Concepts Related to the Images in Music Course Books

چکیده    The purpose of this study is to determine the teachers’ views about visuals in music books used in primary and secondary schools belonging to ministry of education during 2013-2014 school year. the field of the study is made up of music teachers, class teachers and other branch teachers teaching music in turkey. the sample of the study is totally 321 teachers working in 59 different cities in turkey, 192 of whom are music teachers, 120 of whom class teachers and 9 of whom other branch teachers teaching music. in the study, a survey consists of four basic headings in order to take teachers’ views, one of which is suitability of visuals to the students’ level, the role of them on the students’ motivation, the effect of them on students’ cognitive and sensual acquisition, the other teachers’ approach to the visuality has been used. anova test, t-test, tukey hsd and cronbach’s alpha reliability test have been used for obtaining the data. the data acquired at the end of the study has beenassessed by using spss 16.0. as a result of the study, teachers have found the suitability of visuals to the students’ level, the role of them on students’ motivation and the effect of them on the students’ cognitive and sensual acquisition partly effective, but they expressed they did not want to use the visual books again. there are also significant differences in their views about visuals according to the variables of their branches, district where they work, and working times.
