The Analysis of Outsourcing in Hospitals in Terms of Cost Minimization: Bolu Izzet Baysal Education and Research Hospital Magnetic Resonance (MR) Device Example

Especially in recent years, other than their core activities, public institutions and organizations in our country and other countries ensure supportive activities that are not in their scope of specialization by means of outsourcing. in this context, health organizations in our country use outsourcing mechanism for services such as catering without medical services, cleaning, security, data input, consultation, patient acceptance. in addition to these services, supportive services like microbiology, biochemistry, radiology, nuclear medicine, and so on are also provided through outsourcing. in bolu izzet baysal education and research hospital, two types of magnetic resonance (mr) shooting are offered. one of them is through the hospital’s own facility, the other one is through outsourcing. the aim of this study is to compare the two methods of mr shooting in abovementioned hospital in terms of cost minimization. for this purpose, by using cost minimization method which is one of the economic evaluation methods, the result that the hospital at issue will gain more by means of outsourcing is achived in this study.
