چکیده    United nations is an organization formed after the heavy losses and ruins of the second world war with the aim of maintaining world peace and stability. however, formation process and organizational structure of the organization made it a platform of interest and power politics, instead of giving it the role of a fair and democratic ground serving world peace. an organ of the united nations joined by all countries on an equal basis, general assembly is nothing more than a forum for international issues, whereas security council, with holding the power of taking final resolutions and implementing them, is controlled by the privileged position of the five permanent members. in this paper, the discriminatory, inefficient and unequal structure of the united nations, which hinders its contribution to the world peace more efficiently and comprehensively, has been discussed first, and then a more democratic, equitable and efficient alternative has been proposed.
