چکیده
|
Horses, which were tamed as mounts thousands of years ago, have become the most important assistants of human beings in many fields. horses which were tamed for the first time in middle asia where the immigrants led their lives have been used widely all around the world all at once. after people began to tame horses, horses played an important role in the wars, conquests and it enabled people to immigrate to different geographical environments far away. this new period that appeared as a result of immigrations led to the popularity of horses in each society and cultural region, thus a new period of socio-cultural progress came to the fore. first of all, people got benefit from horses in the wars, in transportation, communication, sports and in many fields, then horses playing an important part in social life turned out to be a cultural phenomenon. in every language, proverbs and idioms about the horse can be observed. in turkish and german culture, the horse is regarded as important. this study aims at identifying and investigating in a comparative manner the synonymous proverbs and idioms employed about horses in these two cultures.
