This research aimed to determine availability levels of seventh-position based guitar education method, developed by renowned guitarist and composer bekir küçükay, in school musical instruments guitar education lesson as an alternative guitar education model. the study group covered 40 students taking school musical instruments (guitar) education lessons at ataturk university, kazım karabekir faculty of education department of music education during the academic year of 2014-2015. in the study, an experimental research design with pre-test/post-test and control group, a special type of random assignment, was used. in accordance with the results of the equivalence test, conducted before the experimental design, the experimental group was established as (n: 20) and the control group was established as (n: 20). implementation phase of the research was realized within a period of approximately 4 weeks. data, obtained from the experimental process, were analyzed with spss 20 statistic program. non-parametric test of mann-whitney u test was used in order to determine whether a significant difference was present between pre-test and post-test results of control and experimental groups. we investigated the effect of seventh-position-based studies, developed by bekir küçükay and the researcher, on students’ guitar rendering skills by implementing them in the teaching system. the results showed the experimental group students were more successful in comparison to the control group students.
