Dynamic Effects of Output on Unemployment in Turkish Economy

This study investigates the impact of output increases on unemployment in the turkish economy for the sample period of 2005: 01-2015: 06. for this purpose both ardl and nardl methods were employed. the price variable is also included in the fitted model. results revealed that the impact of output on unemployment is asymmetric, whereas the relationship between prices and unemployment is symmetrical. the estimation results also indicated that output increases significantly affected unemployment in the long run, while the corresponding relationship is symmetrical in the short run.
