Provision of in-service trainings play important roles to keep up to date of employees on the professional development, to keep pace with new developments and to have business efficiency. despite the awareness of importance of training, in service training often fails. the aim of this study is the implementation and evaluation of need based in-service training. this study was carried out in the education sector due to the wide spread use of in-service training. in the training sessions, 4 videos are used in accordance with the needs analysis developed in advance. videos average of 8 minutes in length. the content of the video includes technical and cognitive skills related to work setting. in-service training activities were carried out by employees individually under the supervision of researchers. during the implementation phase the views of employees were recorded using the thinking aloud protocol. in addition, 3 weeks after the training interviews were conducted to get opinions about training. analysis results indicate employees were satisfied with training based on the needs of them. according to employees opinion, to be associated with daily life and to be based on the application are some of important factors affecting satisfaction from training. it can be said that needs-based training can be an important tool for improving the perception of in-service training.
