   The Effect of Practicing by Writing Method on Playing According to Fingers and Position Numbers in Guitar Education

چکیده    Practicing by writing method, which lets students to be more focused on the musical elements in work note, provides them with comprehension of more elements and gives them opportunities to learn actively, is a practicing method in addition to traditional teaching methods while guitar students are practicing their works. the purpose of this study is to define the effect of practicing by writing method on the success of playing according to position numbers in guitar education. the working group of this study is the 10 ba solo guitar player students at ataturk university department of musical sciences who were randomly chosen and divided into two equal groups as experiment and control groups. mixed model which has descriptive and experimental dimensions was used in the study. in experimental part pretest-posttest design was used as experimental design for the control group. after four weeks of experimental process, which also consists of the application of practicing by writing method, the differences between pre-test and post-test were compared. the obtained data was analyzed by using “wilcoxon signed ranks and mann whitney u” tests. after the experimental process, the scores of students’ pre-test and post-test related to playing according to fingers and position numbers skills showed that there was no significant difference between the groups in pre-test but there is a significant difference in post-test in experimental group. the post-test data showed that practicing by writing method has a very important effect on students’ playing according to fingers and position numbers skills.
