In this study, in which the relationship between the body and the media is argued within the framework of ontology, the meaning of the body which changes in the new media age is being researched. on one hand, the semantic crumble of the teory “body and media” with the effect of the postmodern idea, on the other hand the epistemological situations which were created by media and digital technologies’ self ontological properties are also investigated. in the new media term in which mc luhan’s motto “the tool is the message” turned into the dody is the tool”, the classical body idea that depends on the separation of the soul and the body face deep change with the new trends. when the classical thought which depends on the dichotomical “soul and body” separation and the body starts to change new ontological shapes the improving media technologies speeds up the duration. the body which was built as social and historical existence, it then carries the marks of the present time with its many stages. the media age’s fictionalised bodies turn into the epistemological failures’ signs wth the help of the improving technological signs. the bodies that have ironic, multiple and different faces from the side of ontology, show a printing of the present press culture. at that point, this work looks into the present body idea’s revelation, and focuses on the epistemological break that coused the idea of body in the post modern age and ontological changes.in this study phenomenological hermeneutics have been used as a qualitative method.
