Turnover Tendency of Hotel Employees: An Application of Resort and City Hotels

|
The purpose of this research is to determine whether there exists any difference between the factors that affect turnover tendency in city and summer hotels. additionally, some suggestions have been made for the reduction of the negative aspects of the turnover tendency. quantitative part of the study has been carried out with 114 employees in ankara and 115 employees in antalya region. with the help of spss 19 program of data analysis, mann whitney u test has been conducted. in qualitative research, an interview form consisting of two half-structured questions has been prepared. in this research, in accordance with the method of confirming and disconfirming cases sampling, which is among the qualitative research methods, in total ten employees have been chosen including two administrators working in five-star hotel enterprises in ankara and antalya, and the sample of the research has consisted of these employees. for each region, five employees including one administrator have been chosen from ankara and antalya. data obtained from the interview forms have been summarized according to the questions prepared in the context of the theme determined in advance by the method of descriptive analysis. the information obtained from the interview forms is supported with quantitative data and it has been interpreted. at the end of the study, it is understood that the turnover intention is a low rate both in the city hotels and summer hotels, but the factors that affect the turnover tendency is different between city hotels and summer hotels.
