Reflections of Modernist Short Story Techniques in Some of Katherine Mansfield’s Stories

‘modernism’ which had its name frequently mentioned in the literary and artistic debates of the 20th century had significant influence upon the embodiment of the period in a different way. having become influential especially after the world war i, this movement means disengagement from the western concepts of art and culture. one of the significant short story writers of the period, katherine mansfield extracted to her works various striking characteristics of the period, and became an important representative of the movement. in this study, modernist short story techniques in some of katherine mansfield’s works have been analyzed and author’s attitudes within that concept have been elaborated.
