   The Effect of Mass Media on Individuals’ Political Choice as an Effective Means of Propaganda: “A Case of Yalova”

چکیده    Political engagement is declining steadily across the globe, which, in a sense, could be denoted as “political alienation”. lack of confidence to political corporations, change from collectivist ways of life to individualism, liberalistic practices in lifetimes and correspondingly downsizing of the state in activities of daily living, and increasing erosion in moral values which hold people together are seen among primary reasons of alienation mentioned above. despite of this unfavorable scenery, there is a inevitable political sphere consist of governed and governing among the facts of life. requisition task of politicians are taken shape by propaganda. despite the fact that to elect and be elected phenomenon should be a voluntary application, this phenomenon is occurred by infusion and direction. in today’s world, propaganda techniques are more show postmodern features more than convectional. especially, the improvements in information technologies have changed the formal and informal form of propaganda. political preferences are affected from mass media which a veritable turn into “consciousness industry”. it is claimed by some researchers that mass media have significant effect on political choices. in this direction, the objectives of this study are to investigate what degree the media effect the people political attitudes and preferences. to test this research question, a survey conducted face to face in yalova on people who are over voting age.
