The Transformation of the Concept of Sovereignty in the Process of Globalization

This study examines the transformation of the concept of sovereignty in the process of globalization. the purpose of this study, the changes caused by the globalization process is to determine the meaning of the concept of sovereignty. the study of classical concept of sovereignty is lost today, the value and validity, has been brought into the process of globalization claim that sovereignty is limited and democratic qualities. the notion of sovereignty, xvi. century europe, feudalism, nation-state emerged in the transition. sovereignty has been a primary instrument in this process legitimizes the authority to rule over the state. jean bodin and thomas hobbes founded on ideas of the classical theory of sovereignty, sovereign power “absolute”, “unlimited”, “single”, “indivisible” and “inalienable” advocated that. as a result of the classical period, the concept of sovereignty of nation states, as the representatives of the sole sovereignty, both in their own countries as well as international law, politics, economics and public policy acted as a single determinant. however, a lot of progress in the process of globalization, is now interpreted as a different point in terms of sovereignty. in this process, federalism, separation of powers, state of law, human rights, international law, international organizations, with the emergence of multinational corporations and non-governmental organizations “absolute”, “unlimited”, “single”, “indivisible” and “transferable” as classical concept of sovereignty has become impossible for the defense of the said qualifications.
