Religious Culture and Ethics Teacher Candidates’ Views about Classroom Management Strategies

The main aim of this study is to determine religious culture and ethics course teacher candidates’ views regarding classroom management strategies. within 2010-2011 academic year, spring term, 103 religious culture and ethics course teacher candidates at ataturk university participated in the study. the data of the research were gathered using a questionnaire survey developed by çakmak, kayabaşı, and ercan (2008). in the analysis of the research data t-test and one way analysis of variance (anova) were used along with descriptive statistics. according to the results, it was observed that religious culture and ethics course teacher candidates agree on the class management strategies in general. the most important class management strategies observed by the religious culture and ethics course teacher candidates were determined as: “drawing the students’ attention”, “providing motivation” and “creating a safe learning environment”. in addition, the results showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between religious culture and ethics course teacher candidates’ opinions on classroom management strategies with respect to “gender”. however, statistically significant differences were found with respect to both “education level” and “programs studied”.
