چکیده    The policies produced in order to have a right to live far from the negative effects of othering, and in the contestable surroundings of identity constitute the outlines, and problematic of living together in the multicultural and pluralist societies. hybrid worlds, hybrid languages and naturally hybrid cultural identities emphasize the new dimensions of meeting and communicating with the ‘other’ as the signals of multicultural society. as the relation of culture and identity is not static in terms of anti-essentialist understanding of identity its reflections are inevitably changed from one person to the other. in this respect, as the relation of identity and value existing between the dominant culture and subordinate culture in the multicultural british society is coded in hanif kureishi’s narration universe in “my son the fanatic” with reference to migration, power and individual requirements, the story is studied in the light of identity theories as well as postcolonial theorist homi k. bhabha’s thoughts on culture.
