AN EVALUATION REGARDING OF LOGOS USED AS SIGNS OF URBAN IDENTITY IN MERSİN

This paper will contain an evaluation regarding analysis of logos in associations of mersin which have important places as urban identity signs. logos of different work and service suppliers such as governing, metropolitan and district municipalities of mersin have very important role in signs of city's identity. these logos made by utilizing features of urban facilities of mersin have a mission as a speaker of city in the name of city itself with the communicative factor they contain both for domestic dwellers and outsiders. it is aimed to bring a critical approach regarding their similarities, their originality or quality as a design towards their form and content by trying to analyze meanings of these visuals signs' in the field of communication. besides there will be an evaluation upon managers, employers and others regarding their determination and orientation effects on designers in making these signs by examining whether social, cultural, economic and historical features of mersin are reflected or not in these signs used orderly.
