چکیده    Fable, as a literary genre, appears to be an appropriate type for language learning processes. fable is known to help foreign language learner reach the message load and in-depth meaning layers. the use of fable in german teaching as a literary genre contributes to transfer the linguistic techniques and the acquisition of the metalinguistic meaning. due to the characteristics of the literary texts and parallel to the improvement of the reader’s language skills, they help transfer the cultural parameters of the language itself. this study, therefore, aims at examining the contributions of the fable, as a literary, to language teaching by examining linguistic and metalinguistic cultural functions of fable. the method employed was text analysis and evaluation in a reader centered approach.
