THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The main goal of development economics to increase social welfare. initially, in an effort to increase social welfare, it states that environmental protection and results are disregard. particularly in the 1970s after world war ii accelerated the processes of economic development and increasing the impact of environmental problems caused by the phenomenon of globalization, it is observed that envionmental aspects are started thinking in development economics. in this context the importance of environmental indicators outside the socio-economic indicators increased and at the same time the efforts of the international community and organizations to implement the relevant regulations has become an important environmental factors in determining the direction of capital flows. in this context, it has been moon point that relationship foreign direct investment with environment in related literature. one of the main elements of the discussion is whether technology transfer, which realizes with foreign direct investments, will contribute to environmental protection.in this study, a direct relationship between foreign direct investment and environmental protection are considered theoretically.
