چکیده    Osteoma is a benign, slow-growing osteogenic tumor that sometimes arises from the craniofacial region, such as the sinus, temporal or jaw bones. osteoma can be divided into three types: compact, cancellous and combination of compact and cancellous bone and it can be classified as peripheral, central or extraskeletal type according to localization. peripheral osteoma of the mandible is comparatively uncommon. we report here a peripheral osteoma that is seen in mandible. 60-year-old female patient was admitted for a routine dental examination. extraoral swelling was noticed causing asymmetry in face. panoramic radiographs showed an expansive and bone density mass in the region extending from the ramus to condylar neck. cone beam computed tomography analysis was also performed for lesion. in this study, a rare case of peripheral osteoma of the jaw was presented with panoramic radiography and cone beam computed tomography.
