   EAGLE’S SYNDROME: ETIOLOGY AND CURRENT DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT MODALITIES

چکیده    Eagle's syndrome results from elongation of styloid process or mineralization of stylohyoid or stylomandibular ligaments. eagle's syndrome includes symptoms such as pharyngeal pain, foreign body sensation, dysphagia and odynophagia. tmj disorders, myofacial pain, neuralgias, impacted third molars, oral infections, oral cancers and sialadenitis should be considered as a differential diagnosis. dentists should be aware of the syndrome because of the emergence of the symptoms in the cervicofacial and craniofacial region and trying to treat with misdiagnosis. the aim of this rewiev emphasize the role of dentists on eagle's syndrome diagnosis and presenting the etiology and current diagnosis and treatment modalities of eagle‟s syndrome.
