OSSEOUS DYSPLASIA: THREE CASES PRESENTED WITH CLINICAL AND RADIOGRAPHIC FINDINGS

Osseous dysplasias (od) are benign fibro-osseous lesions, which is thought to be originated from periodontal ligament. the bone structure is replaced by fibroblasts and mineralized material containing collagen fibers. although the etiology is unknown, it has been suggested to be the result of mild chronic trauma and traumatic occlusion. od lesions are usually asymptomatic and does not require treatment. they are divided into four types including periapical, focal, florid od and familial gigantiform cementoma. clinical, radiological and dental volumetric tomography (dvt) findings of three different types of od lesions (periapical, focal, florid) are presented in this article.
