BARODONTALGIA: A INDERMINATE PAINFUL CONDITION

Barodontalgia is an oral pain condition that appears as a result of the pressure changes which becomes evident during ascending in flying and descending in diving. it may has a dental origin or not. it may beevident not only during flight or diving, but also during the usage of the pressure for treatment and sport activities like mountain climbing. the mechanism of barodontalgia is still not well known. it may engender undesirable conditions which can compromise the flight. barodontalgia comes into existence in the presence of the conditions like carious lesions, huge and defective restorations, pulpal inflammation, perapical pathologies, dental cyst, sinusitis, and recent surgical interventions. it is impossible to recreate barodontalgia in clinical conditions. in this review article it was aimed to introduce a pain condition which is infrequent but has a potential of encountering by dentists, and to present its clinical conditions, mechanism, diagnostic criteria, etiology, and treatment options.
