   CONGENITALLY MISSING TEETH AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIP SEEN IN PRIMARY AND PERMANENT DENTITION: 4 CASE REPORT

چکیده    Missing teeth are developmental abnormalities commonly seen in people, in which genetic and environmental factors are influential. it can be seen in the primary and permanent dentition. as well as aesthetic problems, chewing and speech disorders occurs, in patients with hypodontia. in children; who were admitted to dokuz eylul university school of medicine’s dental clinic; because of dental problems; between 4 - 18 years old; hypodontia was seen both in them and their families 4 patients and their families (parents/siblings). therefore the cases and the genetic inheritance are discussed. in three cases the lack of lateral tooth in the upper jaw was detected in the young patients and their families. in the other case, the second premolars were deficient both in the young patient and his family. as a result, when dentists’ faces a case with congenital missing teeth in an adult patient, it is important to inform the patient that their children might have the same problem as well.
