An in Vitro Evaluation of Adhesive Strength of the Simple Space Maintainers on Different Decidious Teeth Surfaces

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the bonding of simple space maintainers to different surfaces of primary teeth with a flowable composite resin, in vitro. for this reason, recently extracted maxillary-mandibulary deciduous canines and maxillary-mandibulary primary ii. molars were used equal numbers. the samples were prepared for teeth surfaces with rectangular wire 0.54x0.63 mm in dimentions and bonded to the surfaces satisfied. the prepared samples were termocycled in water baths between 5-560c for 500 cycles, and teeth were subjected to resistance test against pressure with a cross-head speed 0.5 inch/min by using hounsfield tensometer. the data obtained was analyzed with the one-way anova test statistically significant difference, between groups (p>0.05). when fracture modes were compared, no statistically significant difference was found (p>0.05).
