ECTOPIC MANDIBULAR MOLAR UNDER THE CORONOID PROCESS: CASE REPORT

Impaction of mandibular first or second molar is relatively uncommon. also, ectopic placement is quite rare. although ectopic mandibular third molars in the condylar, coronoid and ramus regions have been reported, only one report has presented an ectopic mandibular molar in the coronoid process in the literature. in this case report, rarely seen impaction of an ectopic mandibular permanent molar under the coronoid process region is presented. also, this is the first report which presents an ectopic mandibular molar in this anatomic position with nonsyndromic oligodontia. possible origins of the tooth and treatment options are discussed.
