   PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION OF A CASE WITH PAPILLON-LEFEVRE DISEASE

چکیده    Papillon-lefevre syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disease with a very low prevalence. characteristic symptoms are diffuse palmar and plantar hyperkeratosis combined with a rapidly progressive periodontal breakdown affecting both dentitions, resulting in premature loss of deciduous and permanent teeth. functional, esthetics, developmental and psychological problems may arise in the papillon- lefevre syndrome during childhood. to eliminate these problems complete denture may be a solution after 2,5-3 ages. here is the report of prosthodontic rehabilitation of a case papillion-lefevre syndrome in a 4-yearold girl. clinical examination which included conventional periodontal measurements and radiographic analysis severe inflamation, severe bone loss and halitosis. the treatment consisted of extraction of all deciduous teeth except primary second molars. routine steps of partial denture fabrications were followed for chewing and functional abilty of the child. complete dentures were prepared after 3 months of edentulous period. usual recall schedule was followed up and necessary adjustment were done. the patient is stil under control.
