چکیده    Supernumerary teeth are relatively common in the oral cavity and are characterized by an excessive number of teeth. the term mesiodens refers to a supernumerary tooth located in the midline of the maxilla between the central incisors. a mesiodens is often diagnosed coincidentally during a radiological examination. however, a mesiodens may also be diagnosed in relation to a clinically identified central diastema and an eruption disturbance, or a rotation of a central incisor. early diagnosis minimizes treatment needs and prevents associated complications. this case shows orthodontic treatment of a 9 year old patient after extraction of the mesiodens. this treatment produced satisfactory results in terms of both esthetics and function.
