THE IN VITRO TEST METHODS TO EVALUATE THE BONDING EFFECTIVENESS OF ADHESIVES TO TOOTH STRUCTURE

Regardless of the approach used, the immediate bonding effectiveness of contemporary adhesives, which have different clinical use,are quite favourable. however, in long term, the bonding effectiveness of some adhesives drops more quickly than other adhesives depending on the aging of material. even though oral media can be an excellent test media to predict behaviors of adhesives because of its complexity and unsteadiness, in vitro aging procedures and testing methods also enables us to inform about the main mechanism of bonding durability. this review evaluate the macro and micro test methods applied on the aging and non aging samples and factors which changing the result of these tests. although the data resulting from in vitro test methods enables us to predict the durability of bonding between adhesive and tooth,to compare the data of different researchs, standardization of types of load being applied, substrate, croos head speed, sample design and test devices should be provided according to this review.
