   ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES OF CAVITY DISINFECTANTS, EFFECTS ON BOND STRENGTH AND MICROLEAKAGE (REVIEW)

چکیده    The primary purpose of restorative treatment is removal of all the infected dentin during cavity preparation. after cavity preparation, eliminating the remaining bacteria that may be present on the cavity walls, at the enamel-dentin junction, in the smear layer, or in the dentinal tubules which can lead to secondary caries, postoperative sensitivity and even pulpal inflammation is important for restoration durability. for this purpose, the use of cavity disinfectant is recommended. in addition to their antibacterial properties it is also important to know their effects on the bond strength of restorative materials to dental hard tissues and effects on microleakage. the purpose of this review; to examine antibacterial properties of cavity disinfectants, their effects on the bond strength of restorative materials to dental hard tissues and effects on microleakage.
