FIXATION OF THE BARRIER MEMBRANE WITH N-2-BUTYL CYANOACRYLATE GLUE

Purpose: barrier membranes are frequently used in regenerative surgical procedures to avoid soft tissue invasion into the bone defects. barrier membranes should be in stable position at the application area in order to avoid soft tissue infiltration. surgeons are generally use mini screws and pins for the fixation of membranes. tissue adhesives are nontoxic materials that are used for the closure of wounds. the aim of this study is to introduce n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate as an alternative method in membrane fixation. material and methods: in this report, two cases were presented in which barrier membrane fixation were made by n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate after sinus lifting and cyst enucleation operations. results: barrier membranes were successfully fixed to the bone window with tissue adhesive and the facility of the procedure reduced the operation time. postoperative 6 months controls revealed no complication at healing. conclusion: n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate could be used as an alternative technique in barrier membrane fixation at surgical sites.
