Although metal reinforced porcelain restorations have been clinically used successfully for many years, the metal substructure that has to be covered with porcelain may result in unpleasant gray appearance especially at the margins. many full porcelain systems have been developed as an alternative to the metal reinforced porcelains to solve this problem. the success of full ceramic restorations in serving for a long time in the mouth depends on the success of bonding between the ceramic, adhesive agent and tooth structures. cementation of zirconium restorations may be carried out using either zinc phosphate or modified glass ionomer cements, but use of resin adhesion cements is often preferred as they cover marginal gaps better, their retentive capability is stronger and they increase the resistance of restorations to fractures.
