ENDODONTIC TREATMENT OF MAXILLARY MOLARS WITH TWO PALATAL ROOT CANALS: A REPORT OF TWO CASES

Studies investigating canal configuration of maxillary molar teeth have demonstrated a substantial variation in the number of roots and root canals in these teeth. the number and anatomy of root canals in palatal root of maxillary molars has been described in only limited number of case reports. this case report describes the treatments of a maxillary second molar with 2 distinct palatal roots and a maxillary first molar with single palatal root with two separate canals. this article underlines the importance of complete knowledge about root canal morphology and possible variations, coupled with full clinical and radiographic examination, in order to enhance the success rate of root canal treatment.
