AN EVALUATION OF THE ETIOLOGY AND THE TREATMENT PROCEDURES OF DENTAL ANXIETY SYNDROME ENCOUNTERED IN DENTAL APPLICATIONS

Dental anxiety is a common situation encountered for patients receiving dental treatment and also is a syndrome causing major problems for both dentists and patients. serious problems could arise for such patients in terms of the implementation and success of the dental treatment. however, by the knowledge of dental anxiety etiology and the determination of treatment options according to the advantages and disadvantages, succesful dental applications may be realized. the purpose of this paper is to evaluate the etiology and predispozing factors of dental anxiety; psycological reasons and the subject of ensuring communication and cooperation between dentists and patients. additionally, the essential treatment procedures for patients who have dental anxiety are also described in a comparative manner.
