THE FACTORS EFFECTING THE DECISION MAKING FOR ORTHODONTIC CAMOUFLAGE TREATMENT IN BORDERLINE CASES

Camouflage treatment is a treatment alternative by which the skeletal discrepancy is camouflaged by orthodontic therapies in late adolescent or adult borderline cases. especially adult orthodontics is becoming an interactive branch of orthodontics that patient and orthodontist argue and make a final decision about the treatment plan. in order to put the ideal treatment plan into practice and meet the patient’s expectations, choosing the right treatment alternative is necessary. therefore, in order to compare the effects of camouflage treatment and orthognathic surgery with each other and to weigh their advantages and disadvantages, the limits of these procedures should be well known. in this review, camouflage treatment, which is seen as a conservative treatment alternative for borderline cases will be discussed in detail and its indications will be evaluated.
